We're getting settled (sleeping far, far too much... I don't know if it's the jet lag or the travel or what...) We've gone grocery shopping, to the post office, exploring, to the beach, and out to eat a few times. This is quite a city. The fact that Spanish is a second language here definitely makes it feel set apart from Spain. As though it is a country all its own. We are staying about 7 minutes away from the beach (all time measurements are on foot... our only time in a car so far has been the taxi ride from the airport to the hotel) and about 5 minutes from the world-renowned La Rambla.
Tonight is the "arrival of the Kings". It's kind of like Christmas Eve, but instead of Santa Claus they have Three Kings. They arrive by boat at the harbor and have a parade through the city. We're going to catch that tonight before dinner... our first dinner out in Spain. Should get to the restaurant or bar around 9 or 10pm. Feels like a weird thing in U.S. terms, but I'm pretty excited about sitting around and eating for three hours.

Well, that's all for now. For everyone that received a London postcard with a stamp from España... I'm sorry it took me so long to send those. We only had six days in London and we were out and about pretty often.
